This is my first week of Stacking the Shelves here at Clean Teen Reads, which is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
This is a really great way to find new books and bloggers to watch and I can see myself doing this meme regularly...at least the weeks where I get new books. If that turns out to be every week I might not have time to do anything BUT read! :)
I have another blog called New Adult Addiction that also does a Stacking the Shelves. Hop on over if you want to see my new adult haul!
OK, here's what I got:
I've been wanting to read Partials for a long time, but never got around to it. I know there is a second book in this series now, so that makes me even more interested because I love series books. Especially futuristic ones.
I'm on the fence about Across the Universe. I borrowed this from someone one a while back and started it and then realized it was a LOT like Heinlein's Orphans of the Sky from the 1940's - very CLASSIC SF that someone like me (a SF junkie) picked up on immediately, but younger people who have never read Heinlein and this story about generational ships, would never see the connection. It almost comes off as cheating, but I'll wait and see after I get through the whole book.
My fifteen year-old son read the entire FURNACE Series and I never did read it, so I'm reading book one - LOCKDOWN - now. He loved it, so enough said. It's got really good reviews, and he even made me order the fifth book from the UK so he didn't have to wait for the American version to be released. I have the eBook version now, in addition to all the freaking paperbacks!
I've seen Under the Never Sky floating around Goodreads and the blogs (who hasn't, right?) but never picked it up. So I'm gonna check that one out too.
